Ross was born in 1978 in Paddington, London. He studied Anthropology and History of Art at University College London (SOAS).

He now lives and works in Kent exhibiting Nationwide in the UK

Studying Anthropology at University College London and travelling for much of his twenties, Ross became more and more fascinated by people and their relationships with themselves, others and their environments.

‘People often ask me if I do anything else other than people. I don’t feel the need to.

‘From the moment we are born we look to the faces of those around us to reassure and validate ourselves. This we unknowingly carry throughout our lives.

‘The power of the simplest change of expressions in someone’s face is awe inspiring….whether it be a frown from a stranger or a smile from a loved one…these observances we make profoundly affect our own moods.’

From this, Ross draws inspiration for the subject matter of most of his work.

‘Aestheticism and beauty are at the fore in my work. There’s a spiritual and emotional void in much contemporary art these days.

‘We all have moments when something inspirational, connects deeply with something within ourselves.

‘I can only hope to create that myself. To forge a connection between my work and the viewer; A corner of intimacy that is all their own.’
